Welcome to the blog of Team Atlas, the youngest and one of the most inspiring rover teams in Bangladesh. Our journey from 2016 to now is a story of ambition, innovation, and making dreams a reality. From humble beginnings to global competitions, here’s how we’ve made our mark in the world of robotics.
How It All Began
Back in 2016, Team Atlas was formed by a group of passionate school students who dreamed big. We were one of the first school-student-operated rover teams in Bangladesh, and our journey started with a bang! Our first major milestone? Winning the Project Showcasing Segment at Technival, an annual competition organized by Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). This victory set the stage for everything that followed.
Big Wins on the Global Stage
Fast forward to 2019, when we took our Falcon XXIV Autonomous Rover to the World Robotics Championship’s Robo Race in India (held from September 23-25). Competing against teams from over 40 countries, our robot—capable of both manual and AI-controlled operations—secured a position in the top 15. Robo Race tested us to build a high-speed robot that could dominate the custom-built track, and we delivered!

Our Proud Milestones
Team Atlas has notched up several remarkable achievements over the years:
- Placed Top 10 in the Singapore Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Challenge (SAUVC) 2018.
- Secured over 12 wins at various national robotics festivals.
- Our leader, Sunny Jubayer, won Bangladesh’s first Technical Medal at the International Robot Olympiad 2018.
Overcoming the Odds
Like any success story, ours isn’t without its share of challenges. In our early days, we worked out of a friend’s room, turning it into our makeshift lab. Prize money from competitions helped us fund our projects, but traveling outside Dhaka and covering international competition costs have always been tough.
Ordering specialized parts from abroad takes time, and finding sponsorships remains a constant challenge. But through persistence, creativity, and the incredible resources available online (like YouTube tutorials and online courses), we continue to push boundaries.
Our Vision for the Future
Looking ahead, Team Atlas is driven by a bold vision: to inspire young minds across Bangladesh to embrace robotics and innovation. Our ultimate dream? Competing in NASA’s Human Exploration Challenge and continuing to make our country proud on the global stage.
